Basant Panchami / Saraswati Puja 2011

So Today 8th Feb 2011 is the Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja.
Being from North Of India and being attached to Bengal later , I celebrate both.
I specially Bought A Silk Saree for this Occasion .That red Border Garad Silk with a yellowish creamis hue .
So in North it is celebrated with wearing yellow/ orange dress…
And Bengal it is worshipping Goddess Saraswati , So here is the pic of the Saree that I bought…
🙂 , this is a very common and famous combo in Bengal , Red border on white/cream Saree…

Leaving you with Saraswati vandana in sanskrit…Videos
(hindi , Bengali)

Ya Kundendu Tushaara Haara Dhavalaa

Ya Shubhra Vastraavrita

Ya Veena Vara Danda Manditakara

Ya Shveta Padmaasana

Ya Brahma Achyutaha Shankara Prabrithibhih

Devai Sadaa Poojitha

Saa Maam Paatu Sarasvathi Bhagavati

Nishyesha Jyaadyaapaha

( Oh Goddess Sarasvathi, who is fair as a jasmine flower, the moon or a snow flake, who is dressed in white and whose hands are adorned by veena, who is seated in a white lotus, to whom Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara pray, please protect us )
